Timbers are the largest dimension solid sawn lumber produced by sawmills, measuring 4x6-inches and larger (nominal) thickness and width. For example, 4x6, 4x8, 6x6, 6x8 and larger. Timber construction is typical in structural applications where strength is important, but it is also common in architectural applications where the beauty of wood is meant to be front and center in the design. Timber framing and exposed beam architecture may be found in barns, custom homes, equestrian centers, lodges, hotels, spas, wineries, and other high-end structures.
Preservative Treated Timbers
Allweather Wood preservative treated timbers are available in a range of preservative treatment options and Western species. Stocking dimensions include 4x6 through 8x8. Typical uses include:

Douglas-fir Timbers
Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C013133) certified Humboldt Sawmill green Douglas-fir timbers are available rough and S4S. Rough green timbers are available in 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch dimension, #1&Better FOHC Full Sawn, in lengths from 8–20 feet. S4S green timbers are available in nominal 3-inch, 4-inch, and 6-inch dimension, in a variety of grades and lengths.

Premium Humboldt Sawmill redwood timbers are produced in Scotia, California and are available to our Allweather Wood dealer partners. Redwood timbers are available in nominal 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch dimensions in lengths from 8–20 feet, rough and surfaced four sides (S4S).
